I have recently read that having more than 3gb doesnt benefit usual PC users and no 32bit windows doesnt recognize more than 3gig. U would need a 64bit windows to support more than 3 gigs of ram

a pc with a 32-bit OS can only run 3.24GB of RAM no matter what. SO putting in 4GB or 5 GB is not going to do anything. You shouldnt ever put in 5GB b/c you cannot run it in dual channel mode which will really slow down the RAM

If you're only going to use the 32-bit Vista/Win7, 4GB of RAM will do. VIsta/Win7supports a maximum of 4GB of RAM sometimes less. Another GB will be useless.

4gb or 5gb+ and 64bit will be worth it if you game, otherwise just stick with 3gb if you browse. and 32bit recognizes 3.25gb and with video cards sometimes it can low the amount of ram allowed by the amount of ram on the card.

Windows XP recognizes 8 GB of RAM, surely Vista and 7 will recognize even more, especially the 64-bit versions, which are being sold to consumers even more these days.

It would recognize both possible configurations.

in case you purchase it, assume to construct a thoroughly new gadget to apply all of it. 64bit structures are a royal discomfort to construct, as you could desire to apply authorized hardware (in basic terms sturdy for those construction new computers, so as that they are able to save around for those particular aspects). residing house windows 64bit continues to be interior the open beta point, launched to the generic public, yet no longer the main sturdy OS (that is somewhat meant for workstations that could desire to apply extra memory -- 3-D rendering/CAD/scientific calculations. game enthusiasts are using it, yet except you're a working laptop or workstation shade tree mechanic, carry on with 4GB and XP or Vista 32bit).
