I just want some legitimate reasons why a person should buy a Mac instead of a PC. Is there something really special about Macs? I see that their prices are expensive for what you get. Will the price of a Mac drop in the near future?

With the demand of Mac's, I personally doubt that their price will lower, but to answer your question, there really isn't a legitimate reason to pick a Mac over a PC, Mac's are more user friendly, but lack many basic programs, and you cannot play Computer games on them (if you are a gamer). People just buy them because of their brand equity, nothing more, nothing less

I would suggest you to skip buying Mac if you are after the price. Just buy the mini PC notebook. They're cheap and good nuff for most of the computing needs. Sounded like you're kinda leaning toward the PCs. I have been long time user of Mac(15+ years) and truly love the simplistic interface and OS design from the Apple. Mac it's like the expanded iPod touch. I have really never gone back to the PC but just to play game, I find PC Microsoft kinda clumsy with its interface, and sometime down right confusing and difficult to use. Anyhow, you just gotta use Mac to see the differences....

I switched to Mac some years in the past as a results of fact of ongoing adobe utility conflicts on the workstation area and that i will never circulate lower back. As for the fee, I used to ought to purchase a clean workstation each 2.5 years as a results of fact of heavy snap shots use. My Mac is rather much 4 yrs previous and is displaying no indications of slowing down. performs to boot now as a results of fact the day i offered it, so interior the long- term, it truly is a greater acceptable investment possessing a Mac. i don't locate the Mac greater person-friendly than workstation. each and each has its ingredients and quirks, yet a minimum of i'm not spending 0.5 my day troubleshooting .dll overwrites each and each time there grow to be a utility replace which put in a touch older version of QuickTime, java, or something that mucked up photoshop, illustrator, acrobat or flash when I had a cut-off date to fulfill.

It's just a completely different system. You'd have to use it for a while to understand. But a large part of the appeal is that they are very user friendly. And the OS isn't taking up all of your resources like Windows does.

And to the person who said "you can't play computer games on them," - I don't know what you're smoking, but Macs play games very well. You just have to buy the Mac versions of your favorite games.

Macbooks look nice, have great customer support, and if something goes wrong with it within 1 year its replaced free. It is very stable and clean looking.

Those are the only reasons that I could think of. And I own one.
