Question:
Motherboard not starting.?

I just installed a new motherboard, a M2NPV-VM ASUS motherboard. I have NOT installed the Hard Drives and Memory yet as i wanted to test out the board and make sure that everything is ok. I hooked up just the motherboard to a 20 pin (motherboard is 24) power connector and a 4 pin power connector. I then hooked up the monitor to the onboard video and tried to start up. The power to the CPU and fans comes on but the screen will not show anything. I was at least expecting to see "No operating system found" , etc. But nothing comes on. Anybody know what's up?

Are you sure you have the correct power supply for your system? Most 24 pin connections require a 24 pin power supply.

ok so you have the poer plug from the power supply hooked up and then you also have the 4 plug power connect to the board.also do u have the correct memory installed and also do you have the case power button hooked up and also is the board proply ground with the right amount of stand offs required to support the mother board. and also you do have the corect hdd for the board which is SATA drives

A 24 pin motherboard requires a 24 pin connector. get the right power supply or one of these:
