Is my GPU temperature a little high?

I recently swapped the graphics cards between my two computers, a Dell XPS 630i and a Studio XPS 635mt. I placed a newer Nvidia 9800 gt from the 630i into the 635mt and placed a ATI Radeon HD 4350 into the 630i. I use my 635mt for gaming mainly. At high settings while playing Crysis i can get temperature readings from Rivatuner as high as 92-98 C with the fan set to max speed and the side case pulled off. Is the temperature too high and should I invest in a cooler?

That does sound a little high, the 9800's do run hot.

If it doesn't feel physically that hot to touch when gaming then I would suspect the wrong readings in Riva tuner which just gets it's readings from the motherboard sensors, and all are different and not always accurate.

If you have had it for a while take it out and undo the heatsink cover and clean out the fan and heat sink to make sure it is not clogged up.

How you said "Should I invest in a cooler" Makes me realize that you don't have one (Obviously) And if you want your computer to live another day go out and buy some PCI-E fans and a GPU cooler, That tempeture astounded me as it's one of the highest I've seen that someone commented casually about it. It's near the breaking point so invest in a cooler for the well being of your computer and the wallet that spent money on it.

That number is high indeed, check the hardware again this is 20 degrees higher than my 9800 GT with Crysis/Warhead.

Try gpuz and see what it says the temperature is.
