what does this mean: "windows installer is not installed correctly"?

Question

When I try to download curtain things to my comp, I get this error message; " windows installer is not installed correctly, or you are running in safe mode". what does it mean? where can I find this windows installer? and how can I fix it?
I'm not in safe mode,so I don't know what to do with this message, or correct the issue.
Any help from someone would be appreciated.

It could be the installer was corrupted or it's repository was damaged.



Downloading the installer is easy from the Microsoft download site.

Hmm not sure about this. Windows 7, go down to "Start" At the bottom right and search "Windows installer" or "Win. Installer" if somthing shows up try to reinstall it or find a trusted download on the internet and completely uninstall and install it again.

It may be that your installer service is not running for some reason:



1. Hold the windows key (between CTRL and ALT) and press 'R'

2. Type 'services.msc' without quotes and press return.

3. Scroll down until you find 'Windows Installer' and make sure it's set to 'Manual' and it's 'Started' - If it's not, right-click and go into Properties, then click on the dropdown and choose Manual. Click OK to exit, then right-click and Start it.



If it's not the service it may be that your Windows Installer program is out of date.



Go here to update it and then once updated, reboot and try again:

first download your motherboard model new bios settings and install it.

after you format your hard disk fully and install your OS freshly
