I am running a dual core intel cpu with 2 gig ram and a 1gig graphics card..... I have windows XP installed on my PC.... I have located a file by the name of rlweox.exe that uses 50 % of my cpu power the file is 3476 K big.... I went into my registry and tried to delete the file there but it is just replicating itself again as soon as I exit .... also in my startup menu it shows there but the second I uncheck the file and exit then restart the file is just ticked again... I have triexd reinstalling windows XP but the only thing that changed was that the file renamed itself to the current rlweox.exe... previously the file was named weeeh.exe... now for the past month I have tried everything in my knowledge and that wich is available on the webb.... I am assuming that this is a virus/trojan of some kind .... any help would be greatly appreciated.... if you need any other information I will gladly supply it...

Tnx in advance to those that try their best to help me solve this problem because atm my dual core is running at single core capacity and the pain is killing me :P

Dear you could use safe mode and delete this file by this command, restart your windows and press F8 to show some menu, choose the safe mode it is first option and go to your windows. it is 16 bit possess and all viruses can't run at 16 bit if they write for XP or upper only. now you can delete the file and go to registry and try delete the address of file you should before delete the file from your hard delete all start up and registry commands also you should find all address of file in registry and delete all them.

if you can't delete a file you can download a light program with name: ( Unlocker ) , i love this. it can really help you to kill all proses, if they use this resource or file.

thanks

System Idle Process should almost always be at 99% (ie. yr cpu is showing that it's waitin to be told to do stuff...) unless you run an application (firefox, iTunes, whatever...). Explorer.exe (what yr seein on the screen, the windows 'shell') should only hit 50% cpu if yr doin somethin like copyin data to an external device, like usb or bluetooth or whatever. [/school lesson] :) Long story short: if explorer.exe is frequently stealin cpu time, you've most likely got a problem, possibly some kinda viral nasty. Or an app that's misbehavin. Make sure yr windows updates are recent, you have good AV/firewall software. Also, jst cos explores.exe shows 50% cpu use, it doesn't mean it's the problem; somethin else might be messin about and causin it. Check MSCONFIG from the run... command, see what startup apps are runnin. Check event viewer to see what system logs there are. Sorry if that's a touch vague, haven't had my caffeine quota for the day...

Hit the MS button (between control and alt) plus R. Type msconfig hit enter. Okay, click the Start-up tab. Look at deactivating 50% of this in the first stab at your problem. You only really need is your Antivirus to be here. Don’t be shy doing this as you can reverse the situation that you create. If now, on start up, the situation is resolve, Bobs your uncle if not go over again and get rid of another 50%. If you have an adverse effect, go back over this procedure again and re–tick one of those that you removed from the list and restart....you gets the idea.

PS 3 years old..........I’d do a factory reset, I do this every year...give it a birthday gets rid of all the nasty stuff

Do these steps,

then restart your pc,

without doing nothing

Go to Start>Search

and Search for file name rlweox.exe

Select All searched File at once, right click them and select unlocker,

In no action drop down menu select delete, [if necessary select all process and unlock all] then press OK. restart your pc and it wiil done.

Virus.

Use MalwareBytes.

It's using 50% of CPU as it's a single threaded application designed to max out your CPU usage. If you only had a single-core cpu, it'd be using 100%.

As a safety precaution get a better anti virus as well. Go to http://download.eset.com/download/win/ess/ess_nt32_enu.msi
