I have a HP Pavilion P6404y and have had it almost a year, and recently it has been showing things such as video lagging and getting out of sync and some screen "flickering" while watching videos in full screen mode, we havent cleaned it since we've had it and we get a ton of dust in the house, is it most likely from dust overheating it? We have the Nvidia GeForce 9100 (motherboard integrated), Win7 Home Premium, 8GB Ram, AMD Phenom II x4 prossesor 2.80 GHz, 1TB HDD
**i havent done any gaming, just video editing** and there are no viruses
is it most likely dust?
please answer
thank you

when was the last time you

defragged your hard drive?

checked for mal/spyware?

removed orphan & duplicate registry entries?

Also how many programs do you have running in the background and does the problem occur constantly, or only when you do certain things or run certain programs? ie. only when you try to watch a movie in full screen mode for example?

If your computer isn't randomly shutting down or crashing to a blue dump screen then I wouldn't suspect it's overheating.

that is a typically AMD problem. When the processor core overheats the pC turns off immediately.

Shut down temp is 115 Celsius grades normally. You should clean it .

Try cleaning it to get the result of your thought. Usually integrated video card do not perform better than the external video card.

dirt does mess including your hardware's cooling equipment. you need to scrub it always..say as quickly as a month. Use a small vacuum air purifier or a huge paint brush to sparkling out the dirt. If the themes nevertheless ensue you need to wanna verify the guarantee and deliver it to declare. Or the cooling silicon on your pictures card is long previous thoroughly dry and needs to get replaced(occurred to my GTS250).
