My computer is too slow. I don't know if it is a hardware problem but I'm pretty sure it is.

I just had an error with a blue screen and says physical memory dump recently. I also had the windows xp installation screen appear last week which made me reformat my pc because I cannot do anything about the windows xp installation screen.

Also, I am hearing a small "tick" sound whenever I start up or when I am playing a game like the sound when the computer turns off.

It also takes 5 minutes or more during startup.

Please tell me what is wrong.

There are many possible causes to that problem. It may still be os-related. But with the "ticking" sound you mentioned. Try checking your power supply, maybe it's the one giving you the problem. It may also be your cpu fan not doing its work thus, overheating your cpu. That's only few possible reasons based on what you mentioned.
