Disk drive C on my computer has 1% of space left. I just need to know what exactly i need to do once that storage space is gone. I was thinking an external hard drive.. and if so how much storage capacity should i get?

External drives are great. If I were you I would get a Western Digital Mybook. It's easy to use and works great. As for how big of an External HDD you should get it should be at least as much as you had on your internal HDD originally.

First thing you have to do is make some space on your disk. Delete unwanted, unnecessary files like music, pictures and movies.

Uninstall unnecessary programs from 'add remove programs'.

Run Disc Cleanup. Empty your Recycle bin.

You should have about 5% free space for the computer to perform well.

Buy an external Hard disk with the largest capacity you can get hold of.

An external hardrive is good but how big is your current hardrive? If it is not very bid you will always run out of space so you might want to buy a bigger hardrive and reformat. It is good to have an external hardrive also to keep certain things that you don't want to lose.

A better processor and RAM to make it faster and a hard drive to get more storage.
