Your computer is slow and under very heavy system load .Whether it is due to the under power hardware or you are running too many system process or it is starting to over heat. The 5-10 secs system hangs might be because computer don't have enough memory ram to run the process. It might be expanding some page file as memory from your hard dive. It didn't have enough space in the system memory, so it was borrowing some from the hard dive. And while they do that it freeze a bit. About the sound from the CPU, I think it might be the Fan blowing faster to cool down the possible heating from your CPU. You should open the system case and clean up the dirt in CPU fan and on the motherboard. If you can't, you should get someone else to do it for you. Overheating is one of the major fault for system failure, you should back up your files now. And, let someone looks at it and clean it or upgrade some hardware that dragging down your computer.

that problem could be the result of a million things.

I would update all your drivers. download all your hardware manufacturer's BIOS flashes, and ROM flashes, etc.. All the windows updates.

Secondly, check your antivirus to make sure it's up to date. If you don't have an AV running, buy one. Don't go for the free stuff. Pay money, and get one that works.

Thirdly, hardware, which is somewhat unlikely. If you're CPU fan (or chassis fan) is burned up, your PC will act erraticly. If your hard drive's platters are going bad, the drive will spend a lot of time moving data off of bad sectors to new sectors. Run defrag and scandisk.

Lastly, clear all the junk off that you don't need. (before you run Scan disk or defrag) Any temp folders, including internet files, get rid of it. Uninstall unnecessary applications.

I hope that helps.

It is probably a problem with the OS. If you have Vista, you may need to get more ram. Or the fan could be taking too much power. The CPU is probably deficient. Try contacting your computer's manufacturers. They should provide some answers

Hi,

It could be, I would advise taking the case side of and checking for dust in the fans, including the cpu and graphics card.

While the side is of try surfing and see if you can identify where the sound is coming from for certain.

Yes, this problem only for hardware. Checkup ur RAM slot or RAM. If not check ur IDE cable and input and output device connection. I am sur after that ur Cop will be OK if any hardware didn't damage.OK

Could be a bad fan and it could be causing overheating.
