You may be able to repair the computer with a decent antivirus like Dan suggests. If that doesnt work try an anti spyware program such as "Ad-aware" or "Spybot" ..most antiviruse packages dont offer spyware protection so I would recommend running either of these scans regularly to properly maintain any pc.

If you need to reboot youll likely need a copy of vista on disk to reboot properly. If you dont have one ring the manufacturer and quote the vista security code you were given and they should send you a copy for p&p price. As for drivers and extra software check the manufacturers website [with model number at hand i.e. Inspiron 640..] and you should be able to download the appropriate software for your laptop.

Well, you don't need to do a factory reset. You can try several different types of programs that can help you get rid of that trojan. My favorite is something called Avast. It's free, and it works. You can also try AVG Free.

If you still want to do a factory reset, restart your computer. On the first screen you see (should say dell, hp, or whoever made your laptop), you'll see some text at the bottom. You'll see a button listed (F2 or something) and then next to it it will say something to the effect of "reinstall" or "reformat" or "reset". Press this button and follow the instructions. The button must be pressed while you're at this first screen. If you don't get a chance to press it, restart your computer and do it again.

no you dont trust me

is your computers performance or usability compromised in anyway i.e. can you boot into windows?

if no then try boot into safe mode with networking (for internet) -- press f8 when you first switch computer on when it is off and then go to AVGs website http://free.avg.com download this and run it in safemode it will find the trojan and rid it off the system

if yes you can boot in to windows then do the same as above just in windows normally

if avg doesnt solve the problem and you can still boot into windows try the same procedure but with avast and do a scan with avast (google avast)

if this still doesnt solve the problem then you need the reload disk which will be about £40-50 from your manufacturer

Probably without a disk, you can't.

Some manufacturers will put a restore set in a hidden partition on the hard drive - contact the computer maker.

Or, you can order a disk set from them for a nominal cost

Rebooting fairly ability restarting your computing gadget, so turning it on and rancid decrease back in one action. What you want to do is fix your computing gadget to the state it replaced into in as quickly as you acquire it. in case you have no further have been given the fix disc(s) any further, you may touch Dell and ask them for a option reproduction.

Sometimes the best answer is the shortest one. Such as in this case. go to malware bytes download & run program. reboot and poof gone simple (AND FREE) no tech degree or sillyness to tend to is the cure here! enjoy~
