So I have one hard drive that stores my music on itunes. I got another hard drive to back that one up. How can I have the second drive automatically backup any new files I added to the hard drive connected to itunes? I'd like not to have to manually have to back each new file.
Thanks!

Get the free edition of AllwaySync, and set it to copy new files.
You can configure the heck out of this thing and it works better than any other program I have seen for automatic backups of specific directories etc. I use it to keep backups of a server to a directory on one of the workstations. I use scheduled backups plus new file sync.

The simplest solution is to set up the second drive as a 'mirror' of the first drive. EVERYTHING will be duplicated on the second drive, in real time.
OR, you could set up second drive to automatically backup the first drive on shutdown. THIS would ALSO give you a current backup in case of an 'oops'.
Otherwise, you need to find or write a program that will copy the new files for you, most likely with operation based, or 'keyed', on the file extension, so as to copy only the music files. I am sure there are commercial programs available for this.

Hi,
Simply write a batch file to perform the copy then save it as a .bat file and add it to the scheduled tasks.
I do that with all my main data so it backs up each night to the external drive.
The extra commands make sure that it overwrites any existing file.
F of course is the external hard drive letter so change that to suit your setup.
Just check the scheduler each morning to make sure it has done it's job.
If you need help just mail me.

Open itunes, file, insert file from library then you can go from there and find your external hard drive under my computer or whatever and find the songs on that external hard drive and you can hold your ctrl button down and click on multiple songs at a time and when your done clicking on your songs and just click on insert or whatever.

Does you motherboard support RAID? If so, then you can simply mirror the drives.
If not, then you can do some googling for automatic backup utilities. I assume you're running XP. If so, microsoft has built it in...
