I have a windows 7 desktop computer, and I want a better power supply because I had to unplug something(my zip drive) in order to upgrade my graphics card. Is there a way to use the operating system to identify how much my power supply outputs? I don't want to turn my computer off if I can help it.

look for a label on the power supply. You should be able to get access without powering down.

be careful though!

It should be in Device Manager.go Start / Control Panel / System / Hardware / Device Manager..

No, because the PSU is basically dumb. It has no electronic identification as most devices have.

You need to open your computer and count.
