Medieval II total war is installed, but it wont read the disk. My dvd-rom drive doesn't show up in my computer anymore, and I figure it has uninstalled or something. How do I fix this?

It requires a Dvd-Rom with 8x read speed. There are older model Dvd-Mom's with only 6x read speed.

This is a weird one.
You should probably install a free software online known as Daemon tools. What this does is that it will trick the computer in thinking that there is a DVD inside. It creates a new drive, even though you can't literally see it.

The laser pickup of those gadgets have a existence span, and finally fail. attempt cleansing it with a cd/dvd lens purifier. If that would not artwork then this potential that the laser pickup is undesirable.
