you do not eject flash drives. You have to use the USB drive resource to unmount the drive. You find the resource control box on the bottom right of the start toolbar.

this issue can happen when you delete files from a removable drive. You should move the files instead of deleting them. I move them to the temp folder on my c: drive and delete them from there. You can sometimes unmount the drive if you kill all desktop applications. Do not use a browser (IE) to save a file directly to a removable drive. This will create a link that cannot be removed until you save another file to a different drive. Index service and thumbnails will also keep the drive mounted until you reboot.

You can always shutdown your computer and remove the drive.

Exit out of all programs and use the Safely Remove Hardware

Wizard

it should be an icon next to the clock

Also if the light on the flash card is off you can probably

remove it anyway

furthermore you can make it so you no longer need to use

the safely remove hardware wizard

e-mail me about it

Do a Cntrl-Alt-Delete then click Task List. End task the Explorer. Then Click Run. It will ask you where the program is...got to C drive then Windows folder and then double-click Explorer. This is also called a warm boot.

Then there must be somthing wrong with your cd drive so take it to the shop so they can get it out and fix it. instead of deleteing it try right clicking it and say eject

still in the slot? Tried a crowbar?? Really, sounds like malfunction of hardware. (Don't try the crowbar approach).

Qualified person (repairman) should answer this one :)
