Hello, I just reactivated my windows using a new crack, around 8 mb with a round red button. ( don't know the name but it was from a secured site ) But after a few weeks I saw some suspicious things, like my PC ran slower, and... a few days later I just took out my hard drive for a copy and put it on another PC, but it didn't even run. I thought the SATA cable had problem. So I put it back on my PC but a strange error showed up.

This massage comes after my PC shows my motherboard model and... when the underline comes for starting windows like this and keeps flashing ( _ )

A disk read error occurred Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart.

It keeps coming even if I press Ctrl alt del But... this one is really stranger: Someone suggested me to put the "Ubuntu (linux) DVD" on my PC and boot it using the non installed ( Try Ubuntu ) and start a Scan for damage on Hard drive using GParted tool, When ever I use it it says that hard drive is 100% healthy here are 2 strange things that happens:

1. If I shut down my PC and start the windows after, this error will show up: A disk read error occurred Press Ctrl + Alt + Del to restart

2. If I restart the PC after the scan with Ubuntu tool my windows runs without any error. BUT: if I shut it down and start the windows again, the error will show up again.

Windows 7 (32) ultimate, using Kaspersky 2014 internet. Sorry for bad English.

I have been a Linux user for the passed 12years, I would never recommend Ubuntu to anyone, There are far better Linux distributions available , First you should know that M$ are stopping supporting W7 next January They have already stopped supporting W8, so don't bother installing that,

Here are the latest June 2014 Linux releases that I recommend you take a look at, they are better than Ubuntu, you can check them out here.

So..

Cleaning the register is a good way of improving the performances of your pc and eliminate malwares and trojans. A program I trust is CCleaner http://bit.ly/UrAqp0

It's the best choice.

!!The real questions are: Is it from hardware or just software(windows)?! How do I make sure which is? Can it be a virus? Can I fix it without re-installing my windows? or linux?
?
