Computers do that sometimes when programs keep running at the back which use CPU and Memory.

Sometimes viruses and spyware programs also make your CPU Usage high.

Follow this article and your computer will be good to go ...

high percentage of cpu usage, means programs which require ram are running.

Programs that you might have that use up a lot of ram.

Norton antivirus

Macafee antivirus

Solution, get rid of them and get a freeware such as Free AVG (it's free, just like the name says) which takes up less memory to run.

Other issues that could be causing this.

If you notice a lot of popups when you go to websites that normally don't have popups (like google.com for instance), then you have adware on your computer.

Solution,

Save all your data to disc or backup drive and then reinstall your OS to factory defaults, since there is no way I can possibly go through all the different adware removals that you could possibly do.

Also, try turning off any and all items running in the background that do not need to be running at this time. Use your process viewer for this action.

Last but not least, instead of having all of your ims open at the same time (yaho, aim, msn) get trillian, or someother chat program which can tap into all three, this way, you only have one program open for all of your chats.

Hope this helps

there can be many reasons but the basic reason for noise can be that the cooling fan of the cpu and the processor may be disturbed by the internal wiring of the cpu or something might be in the way of the fan motion.

there may be other reasons also might be the noise may be coming from the cd-rom or harddisk also.

check the things out and if it does not help take the opinion of a hardware engineer.

If you see high cpu utilization and hear something running I suspect you have programs running that are using your cpu and running your hard drive. Could be auto-updates of windows or your anti-virus running. You may want to do a disc cleanup and defrag and go into msconfig startup and uncheck any programs you don't need starting up and running all the time. Also clear your temporary internet files and check for spyware with something like ad-aware.

Following are the reasons for a CPU to make noise:

1. The CPU cooler fan

2. The cooler Fan of the power supply.

If it is a beeping sound the check the RAM slot or the PCI slots if they are ok or not.

i do no longer think of a CPU could be making noise except if it broken or some thing. Noise comes out of your computers: problematicchronic GPU heatsink CPU heatsink CD/VCD/DVD rom different followers PSU fan gadget sound gadget/ sound card and so on.....

The noise come from cool fan. Reason:

Your room is not cold enough to make well. the more hot temperature on board check, the more noisy you hear because the fan will run faster.

Solve:

1. buy and add in more fans into the "Case"

2. Make the room colder by conditioner

Before deciding to buy a new fan, truy to open your PC and just clean it. Maybe he just has a lot of dust.

For the very high % of CPU usage: it is or a virus, spam etc. or some program (software) has entered a loop.

Hi--agree with Net Man ---do you mean the HDD is noisy? it will create noise as there is moving parts inside it--how old is the HDD in your PC?--maybe the time has come to replace it --check what program is using high CPU percentage==cheers!

right, what u mean by makes noise of something running? sounds from the computer only wen something is loading up cause thats your hard drive..... cpu dont make noise but the cpu fan does... what type of sound is it...

the processes use lots of cpu power? or your cpu is at like constant 100%? need more information and word it so its understandable

The CPU cooler fans are running at higher speeds or one the fans may be damaged. Try putting in more cooling fan, cooling your room, upgrade your computer.

for all those who recommend a SWIFT kick i can say,,blah blah blah, first what kinda operating system u got, 2nd, look for whatever process is causing it to work 100%, it could be a bad driver, or incompatible software, research it some more once u find the reason behind the 100 % or just post it back here and wil try to get u the right answer,,good luck

If your processor is "overclocking" (exceeding the designed bitrate), your processor cooling fan may accelerate to protect the processor from overheating. If it sounds like a fan speeding up suddenly, that's probably what's happening.

Actually not much you can do, other than to buy or build another PC. ( Short of putting it in another room and running the cables to it)
