When I switch on the PC it's BIOS screen says

"The firmware has detected that a CMOS battery failure occurred. press the enter to continue"
after pressing enter it's says

"The firmware has detected that a CMOS check sum error occurred.press the enter to continue"
after pressing enter again and it's says

"The firmware has detected that the system date/ time has not been set.press the enter to continue"

after log on by pressing enter then my date is set as 01/01/2006 and time set as 12.00AM
there for every time after log on I have to set the correct date and time.

I changed BIOS as default setting. Even though the problem is not resolved.

how can I solve this? please help me.

Turn the PC off. Open your computer case and look on the main board. There should be a little silver round battery in a holder, it's usually a type CR2032 and is always installed positive side facing out towards you.

Carefully press back on the retainer tab, pop it out, and replace it. Power on the PC. Set the time and date in the BIOS. Problem solved.

The CMOS battery (also known as the BIOS battery) is typically a small watch-sized battery on the motherboard. This battery provides the power for your BIOS to remember the settings and the time. The battery is dead, that's why you're having issues.

Pull the battery out, go to RadioShack (or where ever) and get another battery. Plug it in, set time and date, grab a soda and kick back!

Your Cmos battery is dead you have to change it.....IF...the problem persists in time...then the charging system built into the mother board has gone bad...nothing can fix that except a change of mother boards. Cmos battery's usually last at least 4-5 years IF you use the machine...if you just turn it off and unplug it for a long time the battery will die. If you plug it in and let the battery charge up (a few hours) then reset the time it will stay. and you wont get the error message.

Replace the CMOS battery. There is no other solution.

A good tool I used to clean up and speed up my PC is CCleaner. You can download it for free here http://j.mp/UrADIO
