When I reboot my computer, it reboots to the BIOS screen which prompts for a password. I have to shut my computer off for a little bit then power up again. Then I have to put boot disk in in order for it to boot the proper way.

try to restore your BIOS setting to it's default, remove your Computer Case cover, Then remove the Battery On the Mainboard, plug In the cable, then put the battery back, Turn on your computer.

If it boots to a password screen then your comp has security in the BIOS enabled. What you have to do is go into the BIOS setup screen and then make the password blank, or remove it in some other way.

you have to put in a boot disk????

While in setup, find your boot order and select hdd-0 as your first item.

It shouldnt boot to bios in any condition, unless maybe the bios is failing or the battery is low. Either way, I would remove the bios password until you get this taken care of.

Hi, My name is Bruce,

My last one did the same thing. It finally crashed and we found three trojan viruses got through me checker.. I would take it in and have it checked.

I had buy another computer. We got the old one fixed but it took weeks to rebuild and restore.

Good luck.
