how do i format my USB Flash drive when it says "the disk is write protected"? pls help.. ill give 10 points?

i am using transcend JetFlash v33 when it just suddenly happend that i cant no longer add or remove any data from the drive F folder. i've tried going to "Control panel, administrative tools, computer management, storage, disk management right click" but still i cant format it because its "write protected" i tried to fix it in the registry by going to "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentContro... but i dont see storage device policies.. i also tried visiting the manufacturers website but i dont think it helps.. pls help me.. dont give me damn answer

Hi there.



Most USB memory keys have a special slide switch somewhere on the key which you can physically "lock" or "write protect" the key from accidental write or erase. Check if it may have been switched to "locked" position.

Maybe u accidentally switch it into lock so that it has been write protected...it is a protection in your USB just like the 3 1/2 floppy disk or diskette so just click it to unlock..usually it is found on the side or at the bottom of the USB..hope it will help u...

Some of the flash drive brands comes with a special button that will prevent you to reformat or delete any data save on it. Locate that button and set it. Try to reformat it again





I have encoutered before that the button or switch to lock the flash drive was got cut. Locate that and try to use pointed object to unlock it.
