Recently I had faced one problem: after switching on computer, I used to find a blue screen showing "Intel inside" instead of the screen asking for boot option to Windows or Linux. After some time, the screen used to go away and on a black screen, I used to see instruction to reboot the computer. After rebooting, the same problem used to be repeated. This problem was fixed by changing the cable connection to the hard disk and the power connection (from SMPS) to it. This happened again today. Do you think hard disk of my computer going to crash in near future?
Second: How can I prevent hard disk from crash? Can lack of defragmentation lead to hard disk crash?

It's not really advisable to have two operating system in one hard drive. Try to have just Windows first and see if it happens again. If so, big possibility it's hard drive concern.

Hard disk won't usually behave like that. You seem to have problem with connectivity of the hard disks. Check out the data and power connection to the drive, remove and fix them back. As for De-fragmentation, it has nothing to do with hard disk crash, but causing the computer to work slower.

As long as you can see the disk in the BIOS of SETUP, You should be able to install or run all the operating system installed on it. Improper shutdown often leads to hard disk data corruption and cause windows not working but it can easily be fixed by re-installing.

I hope this helps.

i think the cable of your hard-disk is not connected correctly. just connect it properly and tightly.
