Question:
How do I remove the spacebar from my keyboard?

I spilled apple juice on it and now it is sticky and hard to push. I know, shame on me. All the other keys just pop up but apparently the spacebar is more complicated and I can't find anything on the internet about it. Any ideas? My keyboard is a Gateway SK-9920 if it matters. Thanks.

Go to STAPLES or other retail store and buy a new keyboard.

I have a friend who used to run support in a large company. When keyboards got very old and dirty, they used to put them in a regular dishwasher.

About 1 in 4 of them would come back totally broken and never worked again - but the rest were great!

So you could try it,.. (assuming you haven't got a laptop of course!) and there's a 25% chance it's going to screw it up totally!

Just stick a small screwdriver, under the center of the key, it will then pop off when pried up. The space bar has a bar under the key, to keep the space bar from rocking side to side.

You may have damaged the logic board within the kybrd. Keyboards aren't horribly expensive these days. You might as well try to pop it off. But I think it's probably toast. Sorry.

i took mine aside one time to bathe it. you could not fairly mess something up till you pop the keys out which they wont basically fall out in case you open it. the silver peice interior may well be off beam, basically circulate in and come out the area bar. particularly eay then basically restoration it, you could tell the place it is going while finding at it
