Unable to play video on PC?

Question

The movie will launch for a few seconds than the slider progress bar stops but you can still hear the audio and then a few seconds after that the whole system locks up. If you pause the video for a few seconds then play it again you can see a few more seconds of video till it happens again.
I have tried everything to fix the problem. At this point I have a fresh install of windows, updated all my drivers and the PC is virus free but it still doesn't work. I am sure it is a hardware problem at this point but not sure what. When the problem happens the fans becomes loud and my CPU usage shoots to 100%.
Has anyone ever had this problem and do you think I need a new fan or power supply or what. Please don't tell me I need more ram or a better graphic card. It's also not Viruses or codex's or drivers. If you have seen this problem exactly and know what the problem is let me know, I really need help!

Any system made in the last 5 years can play all full screen video formats. DVD for example can run on 500mhz systems.



Im 100% sure your CPU is overheating. The insides of your PC are caked with dust and your CPU heatsink is packed with it. Computers are dust magnets because of the electomagnetic fields generated by the electric current running through the boards. It literally ionizes the dust particles out of the air directly onto the components. Over time this forms an insulating sheath coating circuitry causing overheating and eventually failure. Your system is locking the system so your CPU doesnt short out.



If you dont have experience with dismantling a fan and heatsink on a CPU you must take it to a technician to have it serviced. A good tip for the future is to never smoke around a PC or keep it on the floor, or in a dirty environment.

Have you tried uninstalling the DVD player program that you are using and then reinstalling it again? (Clean install) There may be some corrupt files in the program after the first install. Did you run your scans in "Safe Mode" also? Some of these rascals hide out in the hidden files. Some hide deep in the registry. Running them in safe mode is a more efficent way to run them, all the backround stuff in WinXP doesn't run while in safe mode, letting the virus checkers and spyware checkers to clean deeper. Do you use Ad-Aware? If you've try all of this then try uninstalling the DVD drive in the device manager and then restart the computer to reload the drivers to the DVD drive if you suspect a hardware issue. The next thing that I would try before replacing the drive would be to clean the optics in the DVD drive with a cleaning disc.

you want some type of a media participant.. maximum if no longer all pcs comprise them.. go on your video report, accurate click it, and also you may see "open with" and be conscious what classes you've or once you've one in any respect. also some codecs you pick a particular style of codec to play it like .avi you want Divx participant.
