I have an internal hard drive that won't boot. I bought an external hard drive in order to recover those files/media from the internal hard drive to external but I'm not sure how to do this. Is there any cables, cords {(not software)} because I have no system to load a software on, besides my mouse driver also failed and I don't know how to fix it. I do have a laptop though, can anyone assist me doing this or give me a walk through. It would be greatly appreciated. email me at jjjones770@yahooo.com

You could download a linux live cd Ubuntu supports this where you can access your files without installing any OS. Just boot the cd and you can copy your files to your external HDD.

You can connect your external hdd with a USB cable.

Your internal hard disk Master Boot Record might be got corrupted. If so you cant use it to boot your system.

You can use it as separate storage memory.

There is a case which enables your internal hard disc to be converted to external. but no use.

I bought it for 700 INR.. Just waste of money.

You can use the external as the primary hard disc(you may have to select usb option in the bios menu)

And install the os to that drive.

the answer is esentially if its a USB exterior force you'll locate it really is maximum suitable equipped to storage and information move. eSata is basically an inner force as far because the mobo is favourite with. the issue the following is the way the storage communicates with the processor and the Chipset on the Mobo. inner oriented drives have a more advantageous precedence faster bus conenction to the processor and centers like direct memory get admission to to % up move and operability. USB gadgets are on a extra peripheral oriented set of interrupt requests. eSata in truth grants the finest of both worlds yet its in ordinary words merely out of its infancy extremely so its nonetheless slightly expensive and quirky.
