What's the maximum length you can use on the PS/2 keyboard/mouse cable and on the VGA Video cable before it won't work. I have extension cables for each and was wondering the length I can go. Please no switch to wireless posts. I already have these cables, (they were given to me) just don't know how far I can go. Thanks.

For the PS/2 cables, about 12' for most cables, before you start to lose signal. The quality of the cable makes a big difference. Higher quality ones will go about 20'. VGA cables are capable of extended lengths. I have installed quite a few 150' Extron VGA cables, and they worked just fine. I have also strung together three or four 6' cables, with a gender bender between to link them, and that worked just fine as well.

Seems to me I've added 6 or 8 foot extensions to mouse and keyboard cables with no ill effect. You could probably go further.

The VGA cable is another matter. Image quality will deteriorate. Might be barely noticeable at first, or it might not matter to you. Look for smearing or ghosting of images on the screen. A sharp eye will pick it up with a 6 foot extension.

ive pushed vga to 200ft with no significant affect on the display.
