I need to unmount a .iso file that is mounted on my F: Drive. I do not know how to unmount it and cannot delte the file. The file is also placed on my desktop but cannot delete this either as it comes up with an error message saying it is open in another program. I have tried Unlocker, and using the command prompt and am now really stuck as none of these methods worked...

You need to find the program you used to mount it and tell it to unmount from there. If you used Daemon Tools you need to open daemon tools, right click the tray icon and unmount all drives. Same for poweriso and others. Find the program you used to mount it in the first place, then unmount all drives. You won't be able to delete the iso until you unmount it.

Right, go into my computer and right click the drive and see if theres Magic ISO, or Power ISO or anything that says unmount ISO, if not it may be an application such as daemon toold or alcohol 120% thats running if they are then the bottom right hand of your screen where the little sound icon is should also be one of them applications running you can unmount it from there.

Hope it helps

You don't mount files - you mount file systems or drives.

I presume you mean how do you unmount drive F: ?

Go to My Computer and try unmounting there. If not try Disk Managenent:

Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Computer Management >> Disk Management

Hi... I have not used PowerISO ... A quick Look at PowerISO tutorials i note ISO files are associated with PowerISO Virtual drive. And are default to open with PowerISO Virtual drive and display the disc icon... Enable any automount and autostart ... You could try simply right clicking an ISO file and create a new short cut... Drop this short cut in to "Start up" folder found in start menu program list. Might be able to come up with a variation on this should it not work..

You can download Daemon Tools for free here http://j.mp/1wDleBj

Daemon Tools is an excellent virtual CD/DVD drive emulator
