hey, i am thinking of buying a new processor for my laptop
and just recently i heard that all computer processors come with a free cooling fan

is this the same fan that is already in my computer?
or do i need to replace my fan with the one that came with the processor?
or can i just leave the original fan inside and just install the processor?

please get back to me
thanks

sorry not possible for laptops

desktops yes

a laptop is pre-designed to take certain cpus and fans etc

so unless you buy a new laptop I wouldnt even consider it!

Actually it is a fan that is mounted over the processor to the motherboard. They give you the fan to ensure proper cooling for the chip. Without the fan, the chip get very hot and will go bad quickly.

Some motherboards and cases offer temperature alarms if the CPU overheats.

Dennis is correct. Laptops are not designed to be upgradable the way that desktops are. It'll be a major effort just to get the the CPU, and you'll probably find it soldered onto the motherboard and covered with some sort of passive heat sink.

It is ok if you install only the processor and leave the original fan.
