You cannot see D: (as in CD rom?) Go to control panel, open " System" open "Device Manager" and see if CD ROM has a "Plus" in front of it...if not, click on the Minus and see if it turns plus. IF so, leave it + and exit, then reboot. IF the CD rom does not come up, then reboot hold down F1 and enter setup bios. Tell machine to search for D drive. IF it cannot find one, then CD is bad. Replace the CD drive (about 20.00 today. ) Good luck

The only reason for that would be, you have no CD/DVD-ROM, it is unplugged inside your case(check the ribbon cable and power) or it is malfunctioning, (Goto controlpanel, system, hardware, Device Manager and see if your ROM device has a YellowExclamation mark by it.) if this is so you should replace it.

We should get together. My computer is missing except for my D drive!

r u sure you have a d drive configured?

D drive is not important as such (normally just a "slave" drive -e.g. recovery drive)

if you have CDs to recover your computer u won't have a recovery drive
