I have a 8gb usb and i used it for a long time and i had a lot of documents in it. Yesterday i noticed i had only 1 gb left on it, 7 already used. I backed up all my documents and deleted all of the stuff from there. COMPLETELY EMPTY. I plugged the usb into the computer but it says ONLY 2 gb available. How is that possible? I completely emptied the flash drive. Please help me, i need to save a huge project right now, it's 3 gb but I don't have enough space to do so. How is it possible that only 2 gb are available?

Dont panic I have seen this happen before, sometimes when you delete files off a usb thumbdrive or usb flash drive when you delete files they go into the recycle bin and until you empty the recycle bin its not going to show you its full capacity. Now what you need to do is to go back to the computer you used to delete the files and put the usb drive back in ... wait for it to recognize it then look empty the recycle bin thats on your desktop.

If the above does not work then right click on the drive and format it.

extra effective than probable using the USB ports/drives has been blocked by consumer group policies to renounce scholars utilising them to convey in video games/courses + the prospect of viruses etc. in case you require use of a USB force then communicate to the gadget Admin's and clarify the area to them. Libary would be an identical yet much less threat of being waiting to get get right of entry to to apply USB Drives.

Format the drive using the NTFS format. Fat32 can only see and use 2 gig of drive space. Using NTFS you will get the original 8 gig back though the file system takes up 10% of the disk space

...wow Carling. Utterly wrong. Apparently those supposed years of experience have taught you nothing. FAT32 can only give you a max filesize of 2GB. It does NOT limit the partition to 2GB, and NTFS does NOT eat 10% of the drive. You have no clue what you're talking about.
