Hi,
i want to make USB pendrive as a bootable device. for this i am using Make Bootable Device software. it show- Make device bootable failed: Please format with FAT16. To use bootable application i must format the USB with FAT16.

i also used this command on cmd prompt.
C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>format f: /fs:fat16
it show: The type of the file system is FAT32.
The new file system is FAT16.
FORMAT is not avaliable for FAT16 drivers.

i also used HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool. but it show options only for File system: FAT32 and NTFS. its not show FAT16.

please help how i format the USB pendrive with FAT16.

try this: (Windows 7*)

go to Control Panel > System and Security > Administrative Tools > Computer Management

go to Disk Management, right click the USB drive and select format. Specify FAT16

if this is not possible then the pendrive probably doesn't allow to be formatted to FAT16

*Windows XP, Vista may have different folder names for the above mentioned folders, but you should get into Disk Management in the end

bypass to my computing device. hit upon your Pendrive (ought to be ' I: ') proper click thechronic and chosen format. chosen in hassle-free terms fat from the drop down checklist. then click format. in case you elect for rapid format the examine the container that asserts rapid format. If it does not artwork then get carry of the utility reported as Partition Magic. Cheers!
