Question:
What is causing my "enter" key on my keyboard to be jammed?

So its not jammed physically, but the enter key does not work anymore.

I did have a virus problem and I think I got rid of it. I had used avast! Home Edition. But could it be the cause of it?

But sometimes, the enter key becomes completely uncontrollable...

Is this a Hardware problem, or could it be due to viruses?

And is there anything I can do about it?

Turn off your computer or unplug your keyboard. Pop off the enter button using a knife or flat head screwdriver. Clean out that area and pop is back on. See if that helps.

There could be something jammed under the key, try turning your monitor off, popping the key off, and cleaning it out... see if this helps, if not... then its just best to buy/adapt a new one to your computer.

And to add... The part under your question, where it gives more detail, you said it don't work anymore, so how did u manage to do all those new lines?

I'm beginning to think its a trick question to see who is really dumb! nice anyway I didn't get it at first lol

Turn your keyboard up-side-down and tap it firmly a couple of times on your desk. There may be something lodged in the key.

this happens to me very often, it is just dirt or other particles stick on the key, just go around the edges with a toothpick and it will be A-Okay
