Hello. I have a PC with 3 Sata HDDs. One runs W7 64bit, one W7 32bit and last drive Windows XP.
When I boot pc up i select what operating system i want...and of course ALL drives can see each other for full file access. Here is the PROBLEM: Every other day SUDDENLY the whole PC freezes up and dont want to start TILL I unplug the Windows XP drive. I figured out that (IN MY OPINION) the XP drive loses connection. WHY??? The drive has no errors and I already switch the SATA and power cables around .........it still comes down to PC freezes when XP drive is connected. Right now I connect it ONLY when I need a file from it and then disconnect it again. Which is annoying!
I do know I could copy everything of it. I also dont think the HDD itself is bad since I used several tests on it. Everytime it crashes the PC i switch the sata cables around which gives me peace for a few days.Anybody an idea what the problem could be???? Brands are samsung and western digital. Sizes are 2 HHD 250GB and 1 1TB.

in spite of whether or no longer it has chanced on undesirable sectors, it rather sounds like the troublesome tension is on the threshold of fail. i could convey the troublesome tension you purely bought actual back to the keep and say it is defective and characteristic it exchanged for a sparkling between the comparable product. each so often those issues ensue and troublesome drives are purely bricks.
