First to be used is a Apple green screen computer that used 176K.. Floppy Disk.

First to own is a Pent II processor @ 128MHZ with 64K ram. 8GB hard drive. Had to use the built in Accelerated on board graphics. 1992 Keyboard and 1995 Mouse! 200Watt power supply. IBM monitor with no RGB options! 1X Cd Drive that cost a fortune back in the days.

16V built in modem card.

I would be the first to admit this PC was my dream machine three decades ago!

The first computer I used was a Commodore PET way back in second or third grade (around '81-'82). I think the only thing we used it for was playing Breakout or a similar game. It wasn't really an educational tool, but more of a neat toy to play around with if you finished your work early.

The first computer I ever owned was back in 1991 (or so). I had a PC with DOS. At the time I had taken some computer courses and thought I knew what I was doing. I wound up crashing the system by re-writing the autoexe.bat file and some other system files. I wound up giving that system back and washing my hands of it.

After that my first computer was a Compaq Presarrio with a Pentium 166 (or something like that) and Windows 95. I crashed that system many times, but I also learned virtually everything I know about computers by restoring it and tinkering. While I am certainly not a computer expert, I know much more than the average person and have even built (assembled) my own computer several times.

TRS-80 in 1979. It had 64k of RAM, 8MHz Z-80 8-bit processor, cassette recorder for storing/loading programs and data. The next year it got upgraded to include a 5.25 inch floppy drive. I learned machine language programming with it, but didn't have an assembler/disassembler so had memorized the hex codes for much of the Z-80's instruction set. Also used a Commodore PET and Apple IIe in those days.

First computer owned was a Sharp laptop circa 1987. It had a 16 line LCD screen, an internal thermal printer, and used bubble memory cards. I think the processor was an 8080. Operating system was still MS-DOS of course and BASIC was included in ROM.

I first used an IBM PC at the office in 1984 and then owned my own PC, an Apple IIe (or similar) in 1985. However, I now use & own Dell desktop PC & Dell notebook. They are both delightful to use.

An Altair system with an Intel 8080 CPU, if I recall it had 4 KBytes of RAM. We programmed it with switches and eventually upgraded the input to a punched paper tape. This was in the late 70's.

My first PC was made out of wood, and transmitted data through long, vibrating strings connected to tin cans. Back then, there were only 6 websites on the internet, and only one of them was a porn site. It took about 3 days to download a single boobie, and the resolution was terrible. You youngsters don't know how good you've got it.
