Both of my shift buttons, the left and right are messed up. My left shift button is acting as a backspace button, as if they switched. My right shift button is acting as a backslash, ||. Please help me fix this so they only act as shift buttons!

The keyboard mappings may have changed.

I`ve had hermit crabs named Herbert, Mini, and Rainbow. it may be extra handy in case you stated what the hermit crab looked like, thats what I based the names above on! Or something effortless like Mr.Krabs or perhaps even Spongebob! Ooo or Sebastian!
