Hello, Im relitvely new to things like the OSx86 project but i love apple software, and i wanted to install Snow leopard on my pc. I have a 10gb partion implemented already but was wondering if the release copy of snow leopard is only an update for already installed leopard or if it is the full operating system that you could just boot from and install to a partion. If it is an update what is the best way for me to go about insatlling it... do i need a legitimate copy of leopard and upgrade or can i use a copy from someone like iATKOS, kalyway, or iDENEB and then upgrade? PLEASE HELP

Mac operating systems only work on Mac computers. ...At least I think so.

Well, it's the best to wait until iDeneb or another hacked distro will be available with all the optional installs you need, instead of annoying yourself with all the EFI and Bootloader business. For now, you can install Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard via the iDeneb installer (but be careful, it does not install like Windows, it doesn't detect the hardware automatically).

The Hackintosh teams are working hard right now to compile all the needed kexts and optional installs (to be compatible with 10.6).

Right now, there's the method to install leopard and create a second partition on which you'll install the SL, but I find it to be not too complicated, but messy and annoying.

So I suggest you should wait for another week, or less, until a fully functional hacked distro will pop up, so you can actually do a fresh install on your system without any fear or annoyance.

Good luck!

Installing Mac OS on a PC is against the EULA (end user license agreement), and therefore illegal. It can be done because the new Macs run on Intel chips, but as I said it is illegal and therefore I cannot tell you as I may break one of the terms of using Yahoo! Answers. If you want an OS similar to it legally, get Ubuntu Linux. Both Mac OS and Linux are based on UNIX.

Go to YouTube and type OS X PC for many tutorials.

dont do it! its very illegal! if you like mac software that much, then just buy a mac. mac minis are only 500 bucks, so thats a good deal.
