PCI cannot be converted to PCI-E so that would be a no. As for a good AGP card depends on how much your looking to spend i recommend a card in the $150 ish range if you want something decent like this one.

If you want something slightly cheaper then this one.

Something high end then your looking at one of these.

Well those are some of my suggestion yes almost all the cards are made by XFX, that's because my current card is a XFX and i think they make a great product. Only other brand i would buy is eVGA cause both these companies overclock their cards for better performance. I put the BFG one cause i thought it was a good deal for someone on a budget but looking for the higher end cards. Also the 7900/7950 series is not available in AGP so i didn't suggest those to you. I buy Nvidia mostly instead of ATI so someone else might have some ATI suggestion for you.

The major physical configuration issue when getting a video card is what slot types you can use in your system's motherboard. Each slot type is commonly referred to by its acronym.

Two types of slots, and thus two types of video cards, are available:

PCI (Peripheral Component Interconnect) ?A slot designed to accommodate a wide range of computer parts, including video cards, sound cards, and modems. Your computer will contain up to six PCI slots.

AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) ?Developed more recently, the AGP slot (there is only one on a motherboard) is dedicated solely to video cards. As such, AGP video cards are more powerful than PCI cards.

To use an AGP graphics card, you need to have a compatible AGP slot on your motherboard. You can check with your computer?s manufacturer (or your motherboard?s manufacturer) to determine if you have an AGP slot or not.

if yes then go for the AGP rather than PCI, if not , then only go for PCI or express ones cause u don't have other option.

And also make sure its exactly 1.5 v or it might damage the computer permanently.

the excellent brick and mortar source i've got run throughout is Fry's Electronics, once you're fortunate sufficient to have a sort of geek nirvanas close to you. superb purchase oftentimes contains some components yet usually challenge-free improve products like photographs enjoying cards and perplexing drives; no longer lots of a type for construction an entire device (motherboards, processors, situations, and so on).

any 8x grapgics card(AGP not PCI nor PCI express)would do.

but for a decent graphic card u should go for nvidia.
