Question:
My Skype won't work, help?

I'm running Windows 7, computer is hardly 7 months old. My issues are just popping up with Skype, I've been able to use it fine since I bought the computer, but all of a sudden it won't work. I'm able to sign into Skype, and it will sit there, if I don't touch it, it'll stay working. As soon as I touch anything on Skype, it closes the entire application, says it's having issues, trying to find a solution, but never does. I looked up the problems and tried almost everything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice now, I've checked all different compatability modes, and even turned the mode off. I've run it through administrator and opened and closed Skype many times, restarted my computer and everything! Now, it'd be different if it just didn't work, but sometimes I am able to stay in the call and it works fine, sometimes the call lags like crazy and sometimes I'm hardly heard. I don't know what to try anymore, it's just bugging the crap outta me, somebody help meeeee.

I had the same problem. I had to upgrade to the beta version for it to work. I went on their forums and it appears many other people are having the same issue. Download and install the beta version, it works like a charm.

Scroll down toward the bottom of the page and the download link is there. The top download link is for the non-beta version.

go to oldapps.com, and get skype 2.5. this is the version that has video that i believe to be the most reliable. skype was recently purchased by microsoft, so i'm sure you can guess where that is going.
