Started my first week of college and since its now a "mobile learning" environment, basically everything is done on the computer.

My computer would usually save documents onto my network -not straight to a USB- so i'm assuming it did the opposite because when I tried to access my files, my USB was unresponsive and when I tried to open up a document on Microsoft Office Word,
"The directory name is not valid" popped up.

Some of my documents are still listed under "Recent Documents"
is there any possible way to retreive my documents from that?

Thank You

Try the thumb drive in another computer. If it still does not work, you are out of luck.

Your document is listed under File, Recent in Word. It will show where the file was saved, but if that drive is inaccessible, it will not be able to open the file.

Your USB what? All kinds of things can be USB. Hard drives, thumb drives, adapters, fans, lights, etc.
