Question:
Can I make my PC run faster?

Currently, I do not have many programs and there is more than half of my hard-drive free (free space)(My hard-drive is 3GB).

When I using multiple programs (i.e. MSN, Firefox, McAfee Security, Twitbin in Firefox, etc), my PC will freeze and I have to wait until it "fixes" itself.

I clear my temp files (etc.) and defrag on a regular basis, and it still runs slow. Is there anyway I can make my PC run faster? (It's WinXP-ServicePack2.)

There are two ways to fix it.

Expensive

Free

Expensive: Buy more RAM, memory, get pc accelerating software, or just get a new computer

Free: CCleaner (free download), MSCONFIG trick (if interested look it up on youtube)

Hope this helps!!

I think your one software - McAfee is not good one which make your PC slow down - recommend are NOD32 or Kaspersky that make, I used Kaspersky I.S. 2009 that replaced McAfee - much better under my Vista x64 SP1 also suggest you better get big hard drive cos 3GB hard drive is much small space.

Running too many programs at one time will slow down any computer - just use 1-3 programs at a time and no more.

judging by the 3gb HDD, it can mean that your pc is very old. you are using many heavy programs in it like firefox and mcaffe, it would really be very slow. i would recommend upgrading your pc or using a maintenance software like advanced systemcare v3 from http://www.iobit.com.

Well it all depends in your RAM or your paging file assigned by the windows in your particular disk. also see to it that the VIRTUAL MEMORY is alot to higher but not exceeding the over range of it settings.
