ok here it is, awhile ago i had to do a PC restore because some thing was wrong with my computer, after it was done everything was fixed but something was wrong with the graphics. I believe that this was because I recently installed a new graphics card a month before.Would i have to install the software that came with it again?
-wats happening is that when i scroll down on anything lines appear accros the screen

-computer hp media center pc
-graphics card-the old 1 that came with it was nvida than i installed a new 1 which is ATI

go to ATI and download the most up to date driver for your OS and card. install it and your done. restoring the system will wipe out any installs past the restore point...

Likely all it is is the driver. since you had to restore the pc, it likely restored to the time before you installed the video driver (the software that came w/ your card). I would suggest going to ATI's website, download the latest driver for your card and see if that doesn't fix the problem before you go opening up your box and swapping things around.



Also, did the ATI card ever work with your computer? did it cause the crash that required the restore? Some motherboards are only compatible with either ATI or Nvidia. If your card worked fine before your ok, but if the new card NEVER worked right it may not be compatible.

There are two possible problems. First, your resolution may not be set to fit your screens native resolution. Second, it may be that new card. If I were you I would take out the card, and but the old one back in. If this fixes it, then Ebay that ATI and get a nVidia instead.

yes you need to reinstall the drivers and software for the new graphics card
