One should defiantly treat themselves. In the medical world, one works many hours. Bipolar can be a very difficult burden to carry. One probably won't be discriminated and turned away, but it's very suggested to get better before one adds more stress.

Your title says "untreated". I think it would be obvious to the school and employer that they are not taking any meds. They can't deny you on that though. But why would someone with untreated bipolar even take a job like that?
