RAM chips will paintings mutually or no longer - it incredibly is a attempt and notice concern. likely 1Gb RAM won't paintings with a 256Mb (previous) RAM module Throw out the 256 RAM Module. evaluate procuring yet another 1Gb RAM module of an identical variety which you basically bought.

Mismatched RAM may not work tothether or at all.
If you have 1Gb of RAM some may be being used by the Video Display therefore showing less usable then 1Gb.

Hi,
Using 2 differnt sizes of ram does not always work.
You would do better having 2 x 1g of ram of the same make and speed.

only ram that has the same speed, frequency, capacity, brand will work together. if not you might burn either the lesser ram or your board.
