Question:
Can't install or boot Windows, I get a blue screen error?

A few weeks ago my computer would frequently stop working and display a blue screen as a result. It generally happened when I was running an application such as a game, but that could be purely coincidental. Now, when I try to run Windows, it gives me a disk read error message before Windows begins to load. I am now trying to reinstall windows, but as I try to install, I get another blue screen with the error message "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." Under technical information, it refers to nvatabus.sys. Most of the pages found when searching the file on Google refers to driver errors, but that doesn't help me when I can't load or reinstall windows, or format the hard drive. I'm assuming it's a hardware related issue, regarding either the graphics card or the hard drive, although the hard drive becoming corrupted might be caused by the frequent restarts when I was still able to run Windows. I'm really hoping it's not my graphics card, as it is a decent ATI Radeon 3850 that is not even a year old, but like I said, that's just my best guesses. I would greatly appreciate any help anyone could offer on the matter.

It is either a hard drive failure or an operating system/registry problem. I'd get another hard drive and try it again.

Every file present in your registry contains a command or direction for every program and application on your computer. Registry files are the files that give your computer the instructions for what to do next. If these registry files get corrupt or misplaced, your computer fails to understand what to do. In these instances, your computer loses control, eventually leading to a blue screen of death. At this stage the priority is to fix these registry files. In such situations it is suggested that you do not try to fix the registry yourself. Immediately find registry cleaner software and scan your computer to locate any errors. This software will identify all the missing entries or errors, restoring them right away. In many cases, your computer will be back to normal. It is recommended that you run this software once a month for best results. I should like to commend Registry Easy http://computer-e-book-money.com

My guess would be an issue with your hard drive/controller. Find out who the drive manufacturer is and download their diagnostics to check the drive for hardware issues.

Insert the re-installation cd or win xp cd, initiate the computer and boot from disc. % R, and decide your force. on the instant style in chkdsk. enable it end and style go out and do away with the disc. Restart comp and this could do the trick.
