Windows XP or later

3.0 GHz Intel Pentium 4 or 2.0 GHz Dual Core Processor

1 GB of RAM on Windows XP or Windows 7 (2 GB on Windows Vista)

7.6 GB hard disk space

DirectX 9 graphics card with 128 MB RAM

Sound card DirectX 9.0c compatible

Your CPU is below the minumum specs. And it's unlikely your intergrated graphics is sufficent either. You need to upgrade.

Do you have a PS3 or Xbox? Portal 2 has a console release. You could try buying those if you think your computer won't run it. I bought the PS3 version at a Gamestop. I'm sure you can find one real cheap on amazon.

CPU Phenom II X3 P820 GD CPU hardware score: 4 Login for extra GFX Mobility Radeon HD 4250 GD GFX hardware score: 2 Login for extra RAM 2GB GD RAM hardware score: 5 i could no longer locate the 860 processor yet suffice to declare that processor is vulnerable and that i've got not considered a 2 for a GPU score for the reason that i discovered this internet site. it is an abysmal failure. Sorry to declare you do no longer come even close.

Run Windows Experience Index to know which hardware you will have to upgrade to make your computer run faster. Click Start, type in the Search Box "Check the Windows Experience Index" and press ENTER. Click the button "Rate this computer" and period. After the task is finished, it will show you which hardware components you will have to upgrade. Accordingly, follow it.

Install a registry defrag tool, such as, Reginout. Start analyzing the state of your registry. If it is fragmented, then start the defragmentation process.
