Hello i have a gtx660 evga 3 gb (1046 base clock,1111 boost clock)and i recently found out that there is another same model same design gtx660 evga graphics card but with 26 more mhz(1072) in core clock and 26 more in boost clock (1137) and i was wondering will i be able to merge those 2 if i buy the second one without any trouble? or are they not compatible due to different specs?

They are both in the 600 series, they will work together fine. Tho, a more powerful video card will outperform them.

I would probably go to NVidia.com and ask your question there for SLI or AMD if using crossfire. Please find the link I posted regarding SLI Troubleshooting tips. I posted #8 for you. I also posted a second link that may help clarify.

8) Verify your two graphics cards match. For example, a GeForce GTX 670 must be paired with another GeForce GTX 670. Likewise, a GeForce GTX 660 must be paired with another GeForce GTX 660. However, since Release 80 graphics drivers, NVIDIA based graphics cards made by different manufacturers can be used together in SLI mode. For example, a GeForce GTX 680 from vendor ABC can be matched with a GeForce GTX 680 from vendor XYZ.

This is from the second link:

"When choosing SLI ready graphics cards, as a general statement for SLI compatibility, the graphics cards you are wanting to use in SLI need to share the same GPU (i.e. Geforce GTX 670 + Geforce GTX 660 will not work but Geforce GTX 670 + Geforce GTX 670 will work), Memory type (DDR3 vs DDR5), and same memory volume (1gb vs 2gb). GPU Core and memory clock speeds can vary meaning you can mix stock with factory overclocked cards."

Use overclocking software to clock your current card to those specs. It really isn't much faster at all.

If you do buy the other card, then yes you can merge the two cards. They are SLI compatible.

Although if you want them to run without glitches, you should set their clock rates to be identical.

Also they must have the same amount of memory. Your current card has 3gb, so the other needs 3gb to work.

You will need to buy an SLI cable to connect them together.
