I have two internal DVD drives in my computer. One being the player and the other being the actaul DVD burner. When I look at my device manager it says that they are there and working properly but when I put a CD or DVD in, it doesnt automatically play and when I put a blank disc in (both CD & DVD again) it doesnt want to burn? Can anyone help me with my problem or send me to a site that can?

There could be a few reasons.

The first, and most likely, is that your system isn't set up to auto-play a dvd or cd. You can either set it up to do that, or you can open up "My Computer" and select the disc from there.

On windows, you actually need a program to burn a disc with, such as Nero or Roxio. You can make a cd or dvd through windows explorer, but this creates a data disc that usually has a hard time reading on other computers.

One other thing to look out for is that your DVD burner supports the type of disc you are putting in it. DVDs come in 3 different formats. You've got DVD+R, DVD-R, and DVD RW. Some burners can only burn to one or the other, and usually have a hard time reading the DVD if it is the wrong type. DVD+/- R drives can write to both and should be able to read both. You'll want to check the specs of your drive to see what type of discs it can author to and ensure you're putting the same type of disc into your computer.

It sounds more likely, though, that you probably don't have your drives set to auto play and you don't have software to burn with, seeing as you're having the problem with both platforms. If you make these changes and you still aren't able to burn, then you may have a faulty drive. Hope this helps.

you like DVD+R 's or DVD-R 's to burn an certainly dvd that performs on your widespread dvd participant. IT would not remember - or + . or you could basically burn the certainly action picture report onto a CD which does no longer require a DVD burner. yet this would possibly no longer play on your usual DVD participant. So it certainly relies upon on in case you elect to burn a DVD or basically the action picture archives. And confident you ought to have a DVD burner to burn a dvd. A cd burner would not burn DVDs.

Hi,

the autoplay option is easy activated.Right click on the drive properties and the tab autoplay.

Only to insert a CD or DVD will not start any application for burning without the autoplay option is activated.

Just use Nero to burn.

Good luck!

If it is only a matter of your DVD player not burning. Windows doesn't support burning of DVD's, you will need a program such as Nero for DVD burning. Auto play is a whole can of worms; it can be your window settings; wrong, missing out dated drever; or your disk may not allow auto play in windows.
