In Control Panel of windows XP, I'm seeing "No Audio Device".?

I Ran the dxdiag and unser sound otion i saw "No sound card was found. If one is expected, you should install a sound driver provided by the hardware manufacturer"

Maybe I won't help you,but try checking the cables of the sound system unplug and plug them and then restart the computer...maybe it will help sometimes that helps when the sound just stops.

you did good home work

go into BIOS and try to enable the sound card if it is disabled.

or

run device manager in XP and see if your sound card is functioning or not .if you found your sound card try updating the drivers.

or

finally if nothing else works chech the cables and connect them properly. if it doesnot work buy new cable it might solve the problem

You might have a virus... my computer, when I had a virus, would constantly make me reinstall the driver. The only plus side is I never turn off my actual desktop computer. When I reformatted the computer however I lost this problem.

install Realtek AC 97 drivers and see if it works with your system and you can always uninstall if they don't...
