Question:
Power Supply Wires/Fan - problem? [pics]?

Okay sry, i know pics arent the best with this camera but its the best i could get... My first problem is that im worried about all these wires, is it a problem for them to be sticking out like that and all? I dont think i can do anything cuz they are just really long compared to older power supply.

Second problem is the fan of the power supply at the bottom, underneath is this tube that is connected to another fan that carries the air out thru the hole of the case directly and this tube is kind of blocking the power supply fan. I looked at it closely and noticed screws there, so maybe i can take it off? Or would that make the situation worse?

1) the wires dont hurt anything as long as they dont get caught in the fan. The only obstruction is by sight and air flow. Get some small nylon zip ties and you should be good to go with that.

2) As for the fan, you dont want to obstruct the fan of the power supply or any fan for that matter. With that said, I removed my fan shroud on my one computer and directed the airflow from the front of the case to the Heatsink fan, then had a fan on the back.

Typically the Power supply fan is and "exhaust" fan where it extracts heat. A fan in the front of the case will aid with bringing air in say across a hard drive or in general. The heat sink fan is hat which cools your processor so if all fans point to the middle, then the one fan (Power supply) will draw the air out.

If it was me, I would zip up the wires nice and neat with mini nylon zip ties (radio shack or walmart) and stuff as much of the wires that I could in under the CD or DVD drive that is at the top of the case. Next remove the shroud only, not the fan from heatsink. How ever looking at the pics, get some canned air while you have this apart and blow the dust out of the fins of the hitsink. Just my $.02 though.

As long as there are no bare wires, it will be ok; you can replace the flat cables, for the hard drive, with round ones.

If you can remove that shroud, remove it; it is blocking the power supply fan. Blocking that fan can make your computer overheat.

the wires are ok for that rig their not bad but they do limit the air movement around your ram i would try and shorten them up next to your PSU to allow better air movement their , but if you cant that's fine i have never seen non overclocked ram get hot enough to affect life or performance.

eh kinda hard to tell but from the pics it looked like your PSU is getting plenty of air into it so you should be ok, i would worry about the amount of dust on your heatsinc and cleaning that up! if your worried about air circulation.
