Dell Wireless WLAN Card Utility manages my wireless connections. The icon in the tray that normally shows if I'm connected or not and the like is no longer there. It was originally a little computer and then would have a red x if it wasn't connected or the green wave-like things if it was. All of a sudden it was gone and I can't get it up again. I tried opening the utility and deselecting and then reselecting the box to show the icon, but that didn't work. It's also not in my startup list at all, so it wasn't like it somehow got unchecked while I was in msconfig. Any ideas?

Your wireless zero configuration has been turned off, Do the following. Go to start>control panel>double click on administrative tools and then double click on services. Scroll down until you are at the bottom of the window and open wireless zero configuration. Click on start the service and then close all the windows. You may have to restart the computer before it starts. By the way if you are using the little monitor in the task bar then windows is managing your wireless connection not your WLAN software. This is probably the problem you have two conflicting systems. If I was you I would switch off the WLAN software that allows it to manage the connection (usually in the WLAN Control Panel) and allow windows to do the controlling. You may have to set this up in the wireless panel. You do this by double clicking on the small monitor icon in that task bar and select viewwirelesss networks. Click the change advance settings and click on the wireless network tab. Select the box that says use windows to configure my wireless network. Close all and its done. Hope this helps. Good luck
