I tryed my floppy disk at school and successfully loaded a document onto it. When I brought it home to work on, my disk wasnt formatted. I am very confused as both computers are Windows XP.

This means that either one of the two floppy drives is defective (or very selective), or the disk data got corrupted.
One thing you could try is to format the disk in the picky computer. This may get the disk to work on both.

Please send the disk test on few other computer. If it is confirm that disk is working fine, I might suspect your floppy disk drive is faulty.
Please try to use a floppy disk drive cleaner to clean the drive a couple of time. If it still don't work, you might need to change a new disk drive.

Sometimes the two diskette drives are not perfectly aligned. When the first one writes the second one reads but does not see the format where it expects and thinks the disk is not formatted.
